Kids Ranch Preschool was created from a dream close to Dewanshi's heart: to give young children the kind of childhood where they can learn at their own pace, spend time outdoors, and feel genuinely known and loved every day.
Dewanshi is originally from India, and caring for young children has been her work and her passion for as long as she can remember. Becoming a mother is what turned that into Kids Ranch: she has a daughter of her own, and being a parent shapes how she looks after everybody else's.
As both an educator and a mom, Dewanshi believes children learn best through play, exploration, meaningful relationships, and everyday experiences. She opened Kids Ranch Preschool in her Folsom home to create a warm, nurturing environment that feels like an extension of family, where every child feels safe, confident, and excited to learn.
Kids Ranch stays intentionally small. With a group that small, Dewanshi gets to know each child deeply: their unique personality, their interests, what makes them smile, what comforts them, and the little milestones they achieve each week. Those meaningful moments are the stories families hear at pickup, because every child's growth is noticed and celebrated.
Here, children aren't just part of a class, they're part of a caring community where they are encouraged to explore, build friendships, gain confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Credentials
The home
The playroom is set up for small hands: low open shelves the children can reach themselves, a rug for circle time and building, and a learning table where we do art, cutting, counting, and pre-writing. Everything has a place, so tidying up is part of the morning rather than a chore at the end of it.
Out back there is a large fenced yard with grass and shade. Children go outside every day the weather allows, usually 30 to 60 minutes, for digging, riding toys, climbing, water play on warm days, and the kind of running that a small body needs before it can sit still.
Our days run in English. We also speak Gujarati and Hindi, so if your family speaks either at home, your child will hear it here too: in a song, at snack, or when a hard morning needs a familiar word.
What being licensed means
A California family child care license is not just paperwork. It means the home has been inspected, background checks are complete for everyone in the household, and there are enforced standards for safety, ratios, and health.
